Orfanato Niños de Cristo: Faces of Hope

I recently had an opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic to photograph the children at the Orfanato Niños de Cristo (Children of Christ Orphanage).
Working with these children was simultaneously heart-breaking, inspiring, and very, very humbling. These images were taken for the new Orphaned Starfish Foundation site, which is being created by the great folks that I work with at the Not-for-profit UX Test Kitchen.
The Orphaned Starfish Foundation helps orphans throughout Latin America overcome the cycle of poverty and abuse by helping them develop vocational skills at the Orphanages that they sponsor. Over 85% of the funds they raise goes directly to the programs they sponsor.
They are incredibly worthwhile cause, and I’m proud to work with them.
